KANKAKEE COUNTY has a rich and diverse cultural legacy. The fourth week of June, year 2020, will showcase the work of an inter-organizational collaboration aimed at highlighting some of this experience for the enrichment of visitors and and citizens. June marks the month in which: our County seat was established; the first week-long Kankakee centennial celebration was held in 1953; and local tourism flourishes as summer begins.
HERITAGE WEEK - all are encouraged to celebrate the greatness of Kankakee County, as businesses, nonprofits, and civic organizations give tribute its formation. Take a self-guided tour.
