The Kankakee County Museum is pleased to offer access to our archival collections to researchers pursuing information pertaining to a viable research topic under the supervision of Museum Staff and in conformity with relevant Museum policies. The Museum's archival collections include: Artifact Collection: three-dimensional artifacts of material culture illustrating life in Kankakee County; Photographic Collection: in excess of 18,000 images documenting life in Kankakee County; Document Collection: numerous collections and individual examples of paper artifacts supporting the general history of Kankakee County. Please telephone (815) 932-5279 or e-mail kcmresearchasst@comcast.net to make a research appointment. Typically, research assistants are available Tuesday through Friday. Permission to use photographic copies (which can be made through the Museum in accordance with standard fees) of still images, artifacts or documents must be secured in writing and credited in a publication as: Kankakee County Museum Archival Collections.
